Monkmead Private Hire Terms and Conditions
As much as we dislike rules and this sort of thing, we need to draw your attention to our policies, which are designed to just cover us in the event of a dispute or any unpleasant situations that arise. We try to be as flexible as possible.
General
1. We will not accept any passenger, no matter how they booked, or where they are located, if they are excessively drunk, their clothing is soiled, they are abusive, rude, violent or the driver feels at risk from them. No refund will be given for any prebooked journey in this situation.
2. During any journey, if there is any abuse (verbal or physical) or violence, damage to the vehicle, or the driver feels in a threatening situation, the journey will be terminated immediately. The driver will call the police and report the incident.
3. We cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen delays in your journey with us, however caused. This includes mechanical issues, weather conditions or traffic delays
4. If the driver is not at the designated location then please call the phone number you have been given to contact the driver.
5. All fees paid in advance are refundable if 24 hours notice is given, and no costs have been incurred by us
6. We occasionally subcontract work out to other trusted partners who provide the same service standards as ourselves.
7. We cannot be held responsible if your luggage will not fit in our vehicle if you have not previously discussed your luggage requirements as each vehicle has a limited luggage capacity.
8. Additional pick ups and drop offs (unless previously agreed) will be charged.
9. Once dispatched, you will be charged if you then cancel your taxi.
10. For any journey, you must be ready at the agreed time. Any waiting time will be charged at £40 per hour or part thereof. If we have a follow on booking that will be affected by a wait, then we will not be able to wait for you. If you have pre paid for the journey, no refund will be possible.
Airport general
11. It is your responsibility to inform us immediately and with reasonable notice of any changes to your flight times which would affect your journey with us.
12. We are not responsible for any missed flights, however caused.
13. You may leave a car seat with us for your return journey, however we cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to the car seat.
Airport Departures
14. We will suggest the best departure time based on our experience, but the time to leave will be your decision. Traffic, accidents or weather can have a unpredictable effect on journey times and so enough tolerance in journey times must be given to allow for this.
Airport Arrivals
15. Payment must be made in advance for airport collections unless you have an account with us
16. We cannot be held responsible for changes in airline schedules, although we will try and be as flexible as possible
17. No refunds will be given if we cannot pick you up from your flight due to it’s arrival time being changed if you do not give us at least 24 hours notice. If you let us know of a flight change, we will do our best to accommodate you if we can, subject to our other bookings.
18. We will track your flight. If your flight is delayed we will do our best to accommodate you. In the case of long delays you may have to wait at the airport to be picked up depending on our other bookings.
19. We allow 30 mins flexibility for arrivals (once we have arrived at the airport) to allow for delays in bags coming out etc. However, beyond that we will charge £40 per hour or part off, and any additional parking charges incurred.
20. In the very rare instance that you have an excessive long baggage delay and we have a follow on booking then we may have to leave the airport. We will endeavour to make a second journey to collect you and we would charge for this as an additional pick up.
21. If your flight is diverted to another UK airport, we will do our best to adapt our plans to meet your needs and collect you from the new airport but we will charge for these changes. This will depend on our other commitments, the location of the new airport and timings, but we will try our best to accommodate the changes. You will be charged for this but you may be able to claim this from your travel insurance.
22. We normally allow a reasonable gap between our bookings so we have a degree of flexibility on arrival times, based on predicted landing times, but any delays where we are waiting for long periods at the airport will be charged.
Long distance journeys and advance bookings
23. All long distance journeys, advanced bookings, and pickups must be paid for in advance
24. On long journeys, the driver may need to stop for a short time for whatever reason, and equally we will stop if you need us to for a comfort break.
Soilage Charge
25. You will be charged £150 to cover cleaning costs in the event of the vehicle being soiled by any passenger.
Food and drink
26. No food or drink to be consumed in the vehicles
